He was a journalist 10 years in Melbourne and London.
He was four years at the Old Bailey Criminal Court. He was in court for the release of the Guildford Four, who were wrongly jailed for 16 years.
He was a media adviser in the Victorian Kennett Government and Australian Howard Government. He was Director of Public Affairs with global PR firm Burson Marsteller.
Heading his own company, his media and public affairs clients included Geneva-based International Red Cross and Washington and London-based international law firm Amsterdam & Partners.
Over the past decade Mike has been an election opinion writer for the ABC and has written for The Australian and Herald Sun.
He has been a guest speaker at the Walkley Foundation Annual Public Affairs Convention, the Australian Government Relations Summit at the National Press Club, and the Australian Defence Force Academy/Monash University Information Warfare conference, where he released data on Australia’s troop death rate in Afghanistan.
Mike has been in the Middle East three times, including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
He lives in Canberra, Australia.
Mike is a Fitness Australia registered exercise professional, gym instructor, group exercise instructor, aqua fitness instructor, AustSwim swim coach and endurance athlete.
He was a Weight Watchers coach. His workshops grew to be among the biggest in Australia and New Zealand.
